It’s October! Can you believe it? 2016 is on the move.
Although I’d like to hold onto the summer a bit longer, I am one of many Missourians who hold a high opinion of fall. It’s a gorgeous time of year and likely the time when most of us appreciate the array of seasons we experience in the Midwest.
A few of my favorite fall moments include: watching the breeze sweep colorful leaves across my path, embracing the crisp weather with mugs of warm coffee and tea, and reflecting on this year as the seasons change again.
The last couple of months have been a whirlwind, so lets imagine we’re sitting down together with a cup of coffee while I recap.
The Table had its first birthday!
We shared an evening of celebration with 35 of our closest friends to reflect on all God has accomplished this year. We had balloons and confetti, so you know it was a blast! The National Church of God published the story I wrote about the festivities on their CHOGNews site. Check it out!
Our community is growing!
You may have read the feature on CHOGNews or Jon’s Big Announcement about the St. Peters First Church of God joining us on this church-planting journey, but if not you should! Several families who formerly attended St. Peters First Church have begun meeting with us each weekend. Due to this growth, we have launched another Gathering on Sunday mornings at 9 am. It’s thrilling see more and more people encounter authentic community and experience Christ at The Table.
The Brown home is open!
Jacob and I have been working hard to get our new house ready for company! The chore of unpacking and settling into a home is much different than an apartment. Renovation projects are still in process, but we’re pausing to host The Table’s weekly Gatherings in October. We’re excited for all the fun times to come!
Jacob rode in Pedal the Cause!
This September, Saint Louis hosted Pedal the Cause, the region’s top cycling fundraiser. This event raised over 2 million dollars for cancer research! Jacob registered for the 75-mile ride with a team of coworkers from True Manufacturing. It was a beautiful day for a bike ride and raising money for a world without cancer!
As always, we are blessed by your prayers and look forward to sharing God's continuous provision on our journey. Thank you!
