It is July:
the last month of our time at LifeQuest
possibly the busiest month of the summer
the first time for our whole team to be together to be in one room
the beginning of our actual journey to St. Charles
lots of goodbye’s to those we’ve grown so close to and who have supported us the last 10 years
finding our next place to live
Jon seeking his next job, he will be working outside the church until funds support a salary
These last few months have been the beginning of one of the most distinctive transitions we have ever gone through. So much: unknown, provision, confidence, unsurity, encouragement, sadness, and opportunity, among other things. We appreciate all of the encouraging words, contributions, thoughts and prayers that have been sent our way! Both July and August will be big months for our family; wrapping up at LifeQuest and getting settled in St. Charles.
We have felt God’s hand upon this whole process. Featured below is a picture of the house we are currently occupying in Lebanon. My dad bought this house three years ago to redo and sell; when we decided to sell our house in Springfield, he got it ready for us to move in on June 1st. We have been so blessed to live here in our transition time; while our house is listed and we prepare to move to St. Charles.
One thing we have cherished over the last month has been the time we have spent with family. Almost daily we have been able to see them, share meals, watch games and visit; it has been such a blessed benefit to living in the same town. Jon, Abi and I also got to attend the National Convention of the Church of God in OKC – this was my first ever and Jon’s first in 20 years. This was a fantastic time of encouragement and motivation! We are excited to be apart of an awakening in the Church of God. Led by the National Director Jim Lyon, we are renewing passion among churches, fighting human trafficking and unifying the Body around Jesus as the Subject of everything. Right after the 4th we will get to go to International Youth Convention with 4 of our core students from LifeQuest. We are very excited about getting to spend this time with them as we close our time here. We are also excited about what God will do in their lives and ours as we attend the convention. Thank you so much for your interest and support of our family as we journey on this new and very unexpected path. We value your friendship, wisdom and prayers!

Housing for the Simmonds
“Regular Job” for Jon - he’s considering starting a Handyman/Home repair business, but will need something first to get an income started
Understanding of the community - we want to understand what the community needs and what God intends for our role to be with in it
Team members- current team members transitioning to St. Charles within the next year - future team members
Abi is quite the reader right now but she has just written her first "Chapter" book called Detective Cat. It has 4 chapters.
Clay is currently learning how to ride his bike without training wheels. He is definitely our dare devil that we constantly have to patch up.
The house we've been able to stay in Lebanon.
