“Put down your phone”
We’ve all heard the statistics stating we are less relationally connected than we used to be, before technology connected us to everything all the time. It’s sometimes challenging to put technology down and engage the person across the table or the kids at your feet. But relationships are so important; it really is worth the investment. The strength of our families depends on the quantity and quality of time we spend together. Our friendships flourish in direct correlation to how we celebrate and mourn with each other. All of these take time, time we sometimes feel like we don’t have to give. There is a balance to be found, and it is different for each of us. The apps on our phones have become a habit; with 5 seconds of down time, we’re scrolling through something…but is that the best thing? What if we put down our phone more this week than last week? See if the people around you are worth it.
