As I stare out the large picture window overlooking the street in front of our house, the anticipation I am experiencing is like no other emotion.  Who will gather?  Who will tell their story?  Who will be here to hear God’s story?  Every Saturday evening and Sunday morning this feeling sometimes overwhelms me.  When I was a youth pastor, I had the same feeling every Wednesday night before youth group began.  This is that same feeling on steroids.  One of our favorite sayings around here is “There is life at The Table”.  As each person or family parks on the street or in our driveway, we know that these are the lives that God has brought together.  God’s work in each life is The Life at The Table.  As we settle into our new routine of 2 small groups, we continue to be amazed at God’s faithfulness to us.  We not only prepare for each person that shows up, we hold our breath each weak because we know that God will show up.  We invite Him to sit down with us at The Table.  We ask Him to walk among us.  We pray that He will open His ears to us as we lift Him praises.  Most of all, we petition Him to speak to each one of us.  We cannot do anything without Him!
We also want to let you know how tremendously thankful we are for those that are far way from St. Charles County in miles but with us in spirit.  We hear from many of you that you are praying for us on a daily basis.  We are grateful for your prayers.  We are also indebted to those who are sending financial gifts to The Table.  The work in St. Charles County is progressing because of your generosity.
Most recently, we have been taking our Saturday night Gathering through Paul’s second missionary journey and our Sunday morning Gathering through Paul’s first missionary journey.  These amazing stories of Paul and his companions sharing the Gospel have inspired us deeply because of their faithfulness to The Gospel, their triumph even through the persecution, and the thriving early church communities that they planted and nourished.  These journeys continue to be an amazing example for us at The Table to move boldly and make huge sacrifices along the way.
Since we began meeting as a single small group less than 11 months ago, God has showed up incredibly.  He has sustained each of the team members that have moved to the area.  He has brought us new friends and helpers in the ministry.  He has planted a community of Christ Followers that are getting bolder and stronger each week.
The challenges that await us in the coming months are insurmountable without God, and we believe, without you (our brothers and sisters in Christ).  Since September 1, we have taken on the full costs of maintaining a facility, which includes items such as utilities and insurance.  We are in the process of gathering bids and estimates for phase 1 of the remodel, which should begin in December.  The funds that are needed for both maintaining and remodeling were not on our radar for this early in our church planting adventure.  We continue to rely fully on God to do what only God can do.  Will you pray with us for God’s provision?

As the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Philippi…May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Pastor Jon
