Last night, my son Clay and I went to dinner at Taco Bell. As we were walking towards the door, a Taco Bell employee opened the door for us. I thought, that is weird. That never happens at Taco Bell. Then as we were approaching the counter, this same employee sticks his hand out to shake my hand and says, "Hello, my name is Brandon. What can I get for you tonight?" Again, odd for a Taco Bell, or any fast food place for that matter, but memorable.
At The Table, we don't see first-time attenders as guests or visitors, we see each of them as new friends. It is our desire to make each person feel like they are included in what is taking place at The Table. We know that new friendships, for some, can be intimidating. We want to make those connections easy.
If you are a regular Table Gatherer, one constant you will discover, is that we will always be pushing you towards making new friends. The reason for this is that you know Jesus. For some, the only way that they will come into contact with Jesus is through you. But you can't connect them with Jesus, if you haven't connected with them yourself. Make a new friend this week! Sometimes all it takes is sticking out your hand and saying "hello".
With sincere love for each of you,
